- Delta F.A.R.M. Approaches 1,000,000 Acres
After 10 years of service, the Delta F.A.R.M. membership roll has grown a bit. In fact, the organization has enrolled an average of 100,000 acres into the program annually. This puts Delta F.A.R.M. current membership level just less than 1,000,000 acres or roughly 40% of all the cropland in the Yazoo-Mississippi Delta region.
- A.C.E. Pilot Program Announced
The Mississippi Glyphosate Stewardship Coalition announces a new program that recognizes aerial applicators who demonstrate the highest level of environmental stewardship.
- Delta F.A.R.M. Elects New Chairman
Because if his leadership abilities and proactive approach to conservation, Mike Sturdivant, Jr. was elected to serve as one of the founding members of the Delta F.A.R.M. Executive Committee in 1998. Since then, he has served Delta F.A.R.M. well and was recently elected to serve as the organization's Chairman.
- Water Quality Improving in the Delta
After a report from the EPA identified more miles of polluted waters in Mississippi than in any other state in the country, the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) began to develop a strategy to address the problem.
- Update on Water Hyacinth Control Measures in Steele Bayou
Joint efforts between the Mississippi Levee Board and Delta Wildlife/Delta F.A.R.M are currently underway to address water hyacinth issues on Steele Bayou.
